H2-Oh what a welcome donation!

July 22nd 2010

Residents of Devon sheltered housing complexes have no need for ifs or butts when it comes to watering their gardens after a donation by the partners maintaining their homes.

West Devon Homes and Connaught Partnerships Ltd, who are working in partnership to deliver reactive maintenance, gas servicing and installation works to properties in the area, have provided and installed 20 water butts in the West Devon Homes area.

The partners agreed to participate in The Free Flow Project after the Tenant Form identified the transportation of water around the complex as a potential health risk for residents to which the water butts could provide an environmentally friendly solution.

Mike Rutherford, Connaught customer experience coordinator, said: “While we are working in the area with West Devon Homes we are always on the lookout for ways in which we can make a positive impact on the local community. Therefore when the West Devon Homes Tenant Forum approached us we were delighted to be able to assist with a project that not only helps the residents but also provides an environmentally friendly solution to an existing problem.”
