Chesham home improvement partners pick up award for encouraging employer-supported volunteering

November 25th 2009
The team working in partnership with Paradigm Housing Group to improve and repair properties across Chesham has been awarded a prestigious Employer Champion Award for their commitment to supporting employees as volunteers.
Connaught Partnerships Ltd received the Volunteer Action (Chiltern & South Bucks) Award for the Best Employer Supported Volunteering Programme in recognition of projects undertaken as repairs and improvement works continue to properties in the area.
The award, received as part of the Volunteer Workout initiative, recognised the commitment of Connaught in utilising a large team of volunteers, including representatives from Paradigm Housing Group, to repair, decorate and clear the garden of waste at Woodrow High House, a training and activity centre in Amersham catering for the needs of 5000 young people each year.
David John, Connaught’s Customer Experience Manager, said “I was delighted to accept the award on behalf of my colleagues working with Paradigm Housing Group who did an amazing job in pulling these events together. It’s great to see the team volunteer their personal time to come together and demonstrate our commitment to making a real difference in the community.”
Diane Rutter, Voluntary Action’s Chief Officer, said, “We try to make volunteering as rewarding and effective as possible for everyone, and we are particularly pleased that our Volunteer Workout programme has gone so well this year. We look forward to another successful year in 2010 when we will formally link up with other charities across Buckinghamshire.”
Connaught and Paradigm Housing Group are working in partnership on a 10 year contract to complete investment, reactive, cyclical and gas repairs.
