Blackpool Coastal Housing and partners scoop national award

Blackpool Coastal Housing and partners working on home improvements are celebrating after being awarded Partnering Scheme of the Year at the prestigious Housing Excellence Awards held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on Wednesday 13th May.
The partners comprising Blackpool Coastal Housing, Connaught Partnerships, BAAS, HT Forrest, Mears and Read and Errington, received the award for demonstrating long term commitment to an open and inclusive relationship, what is being doing to provide homes that cater for those most in need, a tangible contribution to physical, social and economic regeneration, a commitment to communities and the long term legacy of the partnership.
The Housing Excellence Awards are an annual event held to celebrate companies that make social housing work, whether by constructing houses, running social housing schemes or developing products and services that aid with housing issues.
Cyril Holland, Blackpool Coastal Housing Director of Property Services said "The award represents nine months hard work by the Partnership in delivering Decent Homes Improvements to over 2000 tenants whilst at the same time creating employment opportunities for local people."
David Mawson, Connaught area director, said: “Winning this award is testament to the hard work and dedication demonstrated by Blackpool Coastal Housing and partners to provide local residents with an outstanding level of service.
“Together we have worked tirelessly to provide the very best for Blackpool Coastal Housing tenants while also making a lasting contribution to the local community and we look forward to continuing to provide an award winning service in the future.”
Blackpool Coastal Housing and partners are delivering a £86 million home improvement programme over a five year period.
