In a month where hose pipe bans have come into effect in seven water company areas , Connaught Environmental Services will pressure wash Wandsworth’s streets using the UK’s first pressure washer that recycles the water it uses.
The award winning Property services group, sweeps 2,000 km of public highway in Wandsworth each week, cleansing key access areas for residents and visitors to the borough including subways and bridges. Conventional pressure washers can use in excess of 15 litres of water a minute. The Aquila is vacuumated and therefore reuses the same water by using a unique three stage filtration process allowing operatives to work all day without refilling the water tanks which is not only great for the environment but also significantly reduces labour downtime.
“We strive to introduce innovative technology within our daily business practices.
As a result residents continue to benefit from a clean environment, without wasting precious natural resources. We believe that a green approach to cleansing pays dividends.” says Martin Gerrelli, Connaught Environmental Sales Director.
The water restrictions follow seventeen months of below average rainfall in the south-east, which have led to very low reservoir and groundwater levels, and below normal river flows.
