Connaught has earned an enviable reputation for health and safety which has been recognised by external awarding bodies, including 13 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medals, 16 Gold Awards and the 2010 RoSPA Forestry Sector Major Award.

As a company dedicated to delivering maintenance services within occupied premises, we fully understand the risks involved when working in property.

We have safety and environment professionals across the business who hold safety forum meetings to address any issues. Keeping us up-to-date with legislative changes, our Health, Safety and Environmental Services Department ensures all health and safety practices are adhered to by conducting a series of audits. In support of this, our Energy Group provides the expertise to ensure gas and electrical safety compliance across the company.

Our accident rate continues to be better than the industry average as publised by the Office for National Statistics. Recognising complacency as a threat, we continually challenge our individual businesses to meet or better their annual KPIs. Having worked closely with our insurers to identify risks, we have introduced new controls such as comprehensive health service provision, driving licence online checks and driver training.
