Over the last 27 years we have seen sustained growth to make Connaught the UK’s leading integrated services group. Our growth has been a direct result of our long-standing customer relationships, our track record of delivering value through innovation, and our commitment to developing highly motivated people.

1982

  •  Commenced trading as a concrete repair specialist in Sidmouth

1986

  •  Won our first major social housing contract with Mid Devon District Council

1995

  •  Pioneered the first ever customer satisfaction measurement system in the construction industry
  •  Employed the construction industry’s first Tenant Liaison Officer
  •  Introduced the concept of Relationship Contracting

1996

  •  Attained the Investors in People award
  •  Management bought the company
  •  £23m turnover

1998

  •  Introduced our Tenant Liaison Officer Guide supported by TPAS
  •  Floated on AIM

1999

  •  Awarded our first ever social housing partnering contract with Gosport BC
  •  £55m turnover

2000

  •  Acquired a cleaning company which has since become Connaught Environmental

2001

  •  Commenced development of Conntrol – our asset management software

2002

  •  Won the National Business Award for Customer Focus
  •  Launched our ‘Partnering – Slogan or Solution’ report
  •  £108m turnover
  •  Acquired Gasforce, the UK’s leading gas service and maintenance provider to commercial businesses

2004

  •  Won AIM Company of the Year
  •  Acquired JCM in Scotland and BST and Gascare in Wales
  •  Won our first major social housing partnership in Wales with Valleys to Coast

2005

  •  Created our first Training Academy in Caerphilly
  •  Won Partnering Contractor of the Year at the Housing Excellence Awards
  •  Won AIM Decade of Excellence
  •  Won our first social housing asset management contract with Paradigm Housing Group
  •  Won our first major social housing partnership in Scotland with Glasgow HA
  •  £240m turnover

2006

  •  Won Considerate Contractor Gold Award with Ashfield Homes
  •  Awarded the TPAS PinPoint Quality for Contractors
  •  Moved from AIM to the Full List
  •  Acquired Botes

2007

  •  Won Tenant Care Scheme of the Year at the Housing Excellence Awards
  •  Won Partnering Contractor of the Year for the second time
  •  Rose to FTSE 250
  •  Acquired Baldwins, Williams, E-Plus, P.C.L, Water Technology and National Britannia
  •  £2.1bn order book and £396m turnover

2008

  •  Won RoSPA Gold Award for the 6th consecutive year
  •  Achieved FTSE4Good index
  •  Acquired Necta and MSF
  •  Order book exceeded £2.5b for the first time

2009

  • Won Partnering Scheme of the Year and Tenant Care Programme of the Year at the Housing Excellence Awards
  • Acquired Igrox, UK Fire and Fountains
  • Employ over 9,000 people
